Keeps on praying

Dear Lord,

You know my family member (grandma) so much better than I do. You know her sickness and the burden she carries. You also know her heart.

Lord, I ask you to be with my grandma now, working in her life. Let your will be done in my grandma's life. If there is a sin that needs to be confessed and forgiven, Lord, please help her to see her need and confess.

Lord, I pray for my grandma because your Word says I should pray for her healing. I believe you hear this earnest prayer from my heart and that it is powerful because of your promise. I have faith in you to heal my grandma, but I also trust in the plan you have for her life.

Lord, I don't always understand your ways, and why my grandma has to suffer, but I trust you. I ask that you look with mercy and grace toward my grandma. Nourish her spirit and soul in this time of suffering and comfort her with your presence. Let my grandma know you are there with her through this difficulty. And may you be glorified in her life and also in mine.

Amen

Prayer for the Sick

Merciful God,
we remember before you all who are sick this day.
Give them courage to live with their disease.
Help them to face and overcome their fears.
Be with them when they are alone or rejected.
Comfort them when they are discouraged.
And touch them with your healing Spirit that they may find and possess eternal life, now and forever.
Bless, too, those who take care of the sick.
In their own time of need, bestow on them a hundredfold the blessings they have given to others.

Amen.

Jenn, I hope your dad is in a good condition. My prayer always with you and your family.

Serenity Prayer

God,
Grant me the courage to change the things I can change,
the serenity to accept those I cannot change,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

But God, grant me the courage not to give up on what I think is right,
even though I think it is hopeless.
Amen.

Prayer for the sick

Dearest Friends / silent readers (I know some of you who know me read my blog),

I ask for your favour to pray for my grandma (our close relatives) who are in ICU since last night. My mom, my uncle and my auntie rush to the hospital after I received a call (around 9pm) and they were there until 1am.

And I called my mom this morning. She told me that she's in the hospital sending coffee to our relatives who are waiting patiently. And my mom told me that she still asleep.

I still can't believe it. I saw her last Saturday evening when we went back to kampung to attend a traditional wedding ceremony. And she were sitting happily with her grand daughters.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love's sake.

Amen.

Prayer to St Agnes

Here is a a suitable prayer for the feast of St. Agnes from the hymn by Adam of St. Victor.

Let us gain courage for our own battle by honoring the martyrdom of the glorious virgin Agnes.

St. Agnes, vessel of honor, flower of unfading fragrance, beloved of the choirs of Angels, you are an example to the worth of virtue and chastity. O you who wear a Martyr's palm and a virgin's wreath, pray for us that, though unworthy of a special crown, we may have our names written in the list of Saints.

09-09-2008

Can't imagine, today, genaplah satu bulan dah aku menjadi Mrs to Mr. Hubby. Eventhough we are far from each other, I always pray that our love will become stronger and more stronger.

Lord Jesus,
on this happy day we thank you for the joy of our marriage
Through all the years of our life
you have watched over us
to bring us together in holy Christian marriage.

Now Lord, bless us,
for we are united in love of you and of each other.
Redeemed by your Precious Blood
and strengthened by your grace,
may we live in kindness and fidelity,
in unfailing trust and love so that our whole life may be pleasing to you.

Mary, who with Joseph
made a happy home at Nazareth for Jesus,
take us into your motherly care.
You who showed concern for a newly married couple at Cana,
help and guide us
May we union on earth lead to that eternal union
in which all the blessed will be joined together,
praising the Redeeming Blood of Jesus, the Lord.

Amen.

“Lord, I ask for your guidance today. Help me to hear your voice and to know your will, even in the small decisions I’m facing. Speak, Lord, your servant is listening!”
1 Corinthians 6:1-11;
Psalm 149:1-6,9

Prayer for a good Wife / Husband

O Jesus,
Lover of the young, the dearest Friend I have, in all confidence I open my heart to You to beg Your light and assistance in the important task of planning my future. Give me the light of Your grace, that I may decide wisely concerning the person who is to be my partner through life.

Dearest Jesus,
Send me such a one whom in Your divine wisdom You judge best suited to be united with me in marriage. May her/his character reflect some of the traits of Your own Sacred Heart. May s/he be upright, loyal, pure, sincere and noble, so that with united efforts and with pure and unselfish love we both may strive to perfect ourselves in soul and body, as well as the children it may please You to entrust to our care. Bless our friendship before marriage, that sin may have no part in it. May our mutual love bind us so closely, that our future home may ever be most like Your own at Nazareth.

O Mary Immaculate, sweet Mother of the young, to your special care I entrust the decision I am to make as to my future wife/husband. You are my guiding Star! Direct me to the person with whom I can best cooperate in doing God's Holy Will, with whom I can live in peace, love and harmony in this life, and attain to eternal joys in the next.

Amen.

Reflection - Part II

Holy Week: Monday 17th March 2008 (Jn 12:1-8)

Repentance – Faith: In today’s Gospel, Jesus was moved by Mary Magdalene’s deep repentance. Jesus too longs to forgive our sins and is always waiting for our return. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is our opportunity to receive the deep peace and joy of being re-united with the Lord.

Daily Word Of God

Monday of Holy Week
John 12:1-8

Six days before the Passover, Jesus went to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom he had raised from the dead. They gave a dinner for him there; Martha waited on them and Lazarus was among those at table. Mary brought in a pound of very costly ointment, pure nard, and with it anointed the feet of Jesus, wiping them with her hair; the house was filled with the scent of the ointment.

Then Judas Iscariot - one of his disciples, the man who was to betray him - said, ‘Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred denarii and the money given to the poor?’ He said this, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief; he was in charge of the common fund and used to help himself to the contents.

So Jesus said, ‘Leave her alone; let her keep it for the day of my burial. You have the poor with you always, you will not always have me.’

Lord, help us to prepare ourselves during this Holy Week to be with You as You sacrifice Yourself to bring us to eternal life. Amen
